Video conversation with physician who thinks the story of medicine is worth singing about
Case Findings: A 22-year-old woman asked her primary care physician about a number of tiny smooth brown and black papules that had slowly developed across her cheeks over the past year. She wondered if they were the same thing that her mother and aunt had, although they both had a lot more. Would she eventually have as many of the little papules as they did, or could she do something to prevent it?
Case Findings: A 52-year-old man with type II diabetes was at a check up with his primary physician when he asked about a hyperpigmented patch of skin on the back of his neck. He had noticed it getting progressively darker over the past few months. The skin also felt a little bit thicker. Now that his dieting and exercise was finally starting to make a dent in the 80 pounds he needed to lose, he wanted to make sure he didn't have anything else to worry about. Can you diagnose the patient?
Case Findings: A 45-year-old woman presents with a scaly grey lesion on her right cheek. She says the lesion has been present for the past 2 years, but she thinks it is getting bigger. The lesion appears scaly, but she reports that it is not itchy or painful, and there is no draining or crusting. She has a family history of skin cancer and reports using an over-the-counter "fading cream. What is your diagnosis?
